- |versions do, but that is not 100% true(probably more like 90%).
- |As long as you have a PC on the network, this is not entirely a
- |problem though. An example is I set up a default printcon job for
- |my amiga, using the NW version of printcon. When I logged in with
- |my amiga and ran the amiga version of printcon, it told me my job
- |was corrupted in the database and I had to build a new job with
- |the amiga before it would recognize it. Not something
- |devastating, but just a little flawed, in my opinion.
- Furthermore, you may run into problems/inconveniences if you have a NW 4.x
- network up and running, as Oxxi only suports the NW 3.x features. This
- doesn't mean it doesn't work at all, NW 4.x emulates the old data structure
- (called bindery). But it means you can't use any of the NW 4.x-native fea-
- tures via the Amiga, as the NW utilities are missing (Mail e.g. may be a
- problem). Furthermore, if there is no other 3.x computer in the network,
- there may be some work to do on the in order to get it working.
-
- We have one Amiga as the only 3.x machine in our Netware 4.1 network, and
- it works as a client, but you can't edit the network database properly, you
- have to create your own print jobs, your own login script, and mail doesn't
- work, either.
